PAS Youth wants Zahrain out
PETALING JAYA: Bayan Baru PAS Youth has asked the MP for the area, Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim, to quit his seat to pave the way for a by-election.
Its chief Dzul Fahmi Abu Bakar said it was the right thing to do so the constituents could elect a new MP.
He said Zahrain won the seat in the last general election in 2008 with the help and efforts put in by Pakatan Rakyat election machinery.
He said it was irresponsible of Zahrain to quit PKR and not the seat that he had won with the help of Pakatan election workers.
“We voted him in because he stood on the PKR ticket. It is irresponsible of him to quit the party and not the seat,” he said.
Meanwhile, Johor Baru MP Datuk Shahrir Samad said the problems brewing in Pakatan Rakyat in Penang and Selangor were caused by inexperienced representatives.
He said Pakatan elected representatives were relatively new to matters at the state and federal level.
“A coalition must have a stronger basis to form a government but the opposition lacks such a foundation,” he said.
